Leave Nairobi behind and journey towards the Maasai Mara, pausing at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for sweeping photographs before continuing with a refreshing stop en route. Arrive at your private camp or lodge for lunch and check-in, then venture out on your first afternoon game drive. Across the Mara’s vast grasslands, search for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and the great cats that define this ecosystem. As golden light settles over the plains, return for dinner and your first night in the wild.

After breakfast, set out with a packed lunch for a full-day exploration along a different route through the Mara. Venture deeper into open plains, riverine woodland and wildlife-rich valleys, following fresh tracks and seasonal movement. The reserve supports more than 95 mammal species, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants and buffalo. Pause for a secluded wilderness picnic before continuing until late afternoon. For an exquisite finale, enjoy an optional private sundowner overlooking the endless Mara plains before returning to camp.

Rise before dawn for an optional hot-air balloon safari, floating silently above the awakening Mara as the sun paints the plains gold, followed by a bush breakfast. Prefer to stay on the ground? Set out on another full-day game drive with a packed lunch, exploring fresh terrain in search of wildlife. Watch for the Mara’s remarkable big cats, enormous buffalo herds and elephants moving across the savannah. Spend the day immersed in the wilderness before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.
